Minnesota natives Esther Thompson 70 and sister Betty 69, both married to retired Saskatchewan farmers, await the outcome of their participation in OVDI. Joint accounts with husbands that show large fluctuations related to grain sales cause them concern. So far each has spent $6,000 on legal and accounting fees. Tax analyst Cleo Hamel has never “seen anything like this that’s caused this much concern, even in Canadian tax.”
